Ian Cicco

Dr. Ian Cicco is an Assistant Professor and the Nina Bell Suggs Endowed Professor of Music Education at the University of Southern Mississippi. He specializes in elementary music education, Orff Schulwerk, and the history and philosophy of music education. His research has been presented at prestigious conferences including AERA, SMTE, and the Oxford Symposium on the History of Music Education.

• PhD in Music Education with minor in Voice (Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, 2022)
• MM in Music Education (Boston University, 2018)

His scholarly work appears in the Journal of Research in Music Education, Action, Criticism, and Theory for Music Education, and multiple other journals. He actively serves on the editorial board of The Orff Echo and as Vice President for the Mississippi Orff Chapter #100.
