Dr. Lemondra Hamilton is an Assistant Professor of Music Education at Mississippi Valley State University (MVSU) in Itta Bena, MS. Currently serving as Acting Chair for Music Education and Music History, he teaches courses including Music Appreciation, Music History I and II, and Elementary/Secondary Music Methods. With over 35 years of experience as a pianist and music director for diverse church choirs, he is a certified Orff Specialist and has composed original works like A Creative Comedy in C (2013).

His certifications and collaborations include completing Orff Levels I, II, III, and Master Class at the University of Memphis. He also co-chaired the 2011 Memphis City Schools Orff All-City Concert and played organ for the funeral of Riley “B.B.” King. Dr. Hamilton’s mentorship extends to piano studies under Doris Richardson, Mildred Sias, Pauline Stilwell, and Dr. Lawrence Goldman.
