Ian Browne

Ian Browne is a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Society at the University of Chester, serving as placement lead for the Social Work Masters and Apprenticeship Programme since March 2022. His role focuses on practice and skills development, leveraging over 9 years of experience as a Child Protection Social Worker and Senior Practice Lead in Leeds and Cheshire West councils.

His research examines:

• Placement optimization in social work education
• Trauma-informed methodologies
• Child and family welfare practices

Notably, his team received the 2016 Social Work Team of the Year award for exemplary practice.
