Dr. Iain MacPherson is a Lecturer and Fellow of the Higher Education Academy with over twenty years' experience teaching Scottish Gaelic literature and language. His PhD research from Ulster University examined Scottish Gaelic diasporic song-poems through the project 'Displaced Poets: Migrant Writing from the Margins of Movement and Memory'.
At Sabhal Mòr Ostaig, he teaches:
- Scottish Gaelic literature modules
- Gaelic and rural development
- The Gaelic Legacy (postgraduate)
- Gaelic Translation (PDA course leader)
Previously at Ulster University (2006-2016), he taught Scottish/Irish Gaelic language, literature, and heritage studies.
