Hyundo Franz Kim, PhD, MSOM, LAc, serves as the Assistant Dean of Acupuncture & Herbal Medicine at the College of Professional Studies, National University of Health Sciences (NUHS). He is also the Chief Clinician for the NUHS Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Clinic and holds roles as International Coordinator of the Journal of Acupuncture and Meridian Studies and Secretary General of the International Pharmacopuncture Institute.
Dr. Kim earned a BA in History and Biology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (1992), an MSOM from Emperor’s College of Traditional Oriental Medicine (1998), and a PhD in Acupuncture and Moxibustion from Sangji University, South Korea (2006). His career includes research at the Korean Research Institute of Geriatrics and teaching at Sangji University. He joined NUHS in 2007 as faculty, emphasizing clinical training and integrative medicine.
His research focuses on pharmacopuncture, geriatric care, and combining Western and Eastern medical practices. He authored a seminal book on pharmacopuncture, translated into English, and advocates for its global application. He leads initiatives to expand pharmacopuncture training in the U.S. and internationally.
