Dr. Hugo Storey is an Adjunct Professor at the Kaldor Centre for International Refugee Law, specializing in human rights, refugee law, international law, and European law. He is a retired judge of the UK Upper Tribunal (Immigration and Asylum Chamber) and a Research Fellow at the Refugee Law Initiative (RLI), University of London.
His academic work includes extensive publications on refugee law and human rights, notably a book titled The Refugee Definition in International Law (Oxford University Press, October 2023). He led judicial training projects for IARMJ-Europe and EASO/EUAA across 27 Member States, resulting in over 16 influential publications. Currently, he trains new members of the Irish International Protection Appeals Tribunal.
