Hugo Reinert is an Associate Professor in Cultural History and Environmental Humanities at the University of Oslo’s Department of Culture, Religion, Asian and Middle Eastern Studies (IKOS). His research intersects the Anthropocene, multispecies relations, and critical heritage studies, with a focus on Arctic environments, resource extraction, and biopolitics. He leads the Oslo Center for Environmental Humanities (OCEH) and has designed graduate courses on fieldwork, digital heritage, and experimental environmental research methods.
