Hong Li Snyder is a Lecturer in the Department of Asian & Asian American Studies at Stony Brook University, part of the College of Arts & Sciences. She teaches Mandarin and has extensive experience in language education. Her academic background includes an L.L.M. in Economic Law from Jilin University (China), an MBA from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and she is currently pursuing a PhD.
Dr. Snyder has translated sixteen European children’s books into Chinese, published by Beijing Higher Education Press, and authored two books on Chinese Festivals for Shandong Friendship Press. These works emphasize cultural exchange and education. She has taught Chinese at Stony Brook University since 2021, helping students achieve proficiency in HSK exams. Beyond academia, she enjoys mushroom hunting, gardening, cooking, and Chinese painting.
