About
Professor Hilary Coller holds joint appointments in Molecular, Cell and Developmental Biology and Biological Chemistry at UCLA. Her NIH-funded research explores cellular quiescence mechanisms, metabolic adaptations in dormant states, and stromal contributions to cancer progression. She currently serves as Editor-in-Chief of Physiological Genomics.
Research domains:
- Metabolic regulation of quiescent stem cells
- Epigenetic control of cell cycle transitions
- MicroRNA networks in proliferation arrest
- Cancer-associated fibroblast biology
Her laboratory developed novel biosensing technologies for in vivo metabolomics and contributed fundamental insights into mitochondrial regulation of cell cycle checkpoints. Educational leadership includes directing undergraduate genomics research programs.
