Hermann Veith

Prof. Dr. Hermann Veith is Professor of Pedagogy with a focus on socialization research at the Institute of Educational Science, University of Göttingen. He serves as Head of the Central Institution for Teacher Training (NLF) and Chairman of the Examination Board for the Master of Education program within the Faculty of Social Sciences.

His research centers on democratic education and social learning, with emphasis on conceptualizing measurement instruments for adolescent democratic competences. He provides scientific support for school development initiatives in Vorarlberg and Southern Lower Saxony, and evaluates cultural integration projects in educational settings.

Veith directs the Teacher Training Network (NLF) and holds significant external roles including membership in the German School Prize preliminary jury, chairmanship of the Support Association for Democratic Action, and leadership in regional teacher training competence centers across Lower Saxony.
