Henry Chu

Henry Chu is a Professor at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette's School of Computing and Informatics, serving as the Lockheed Martin/Louisiana Board of Regents Professor of Computer Science/Computer Engineering and Executive Director of the Informatics Research Institute. He holds leadership roles in state initiatives like the Taking Aim at Cancer Program and Louisiana Optical Network Initiative.

Dr. Chu earned B.S.E. and M.S.E. degrees from the University of Michigan, and a Ph.D. from Purdue University. His research focuses on machine learning and data science applied to societal challenges such as healthcare system optimization and disaster recovery planning. He leads the Louisiana Department of Health's data analytics projects.

His awards include the Distinguished Professor Award (2000) and recognitions from Phi Kappa Phi and Louisiana Board of Regents. He is a Life Senior Member of IEEE and serves on multiple state-level science committees.
