Helen Holder is the Head of Department for Apprenticeships and CPD and a Principal Lecturer at the University of Worcester. She holds a Doctor of Education from Birmingham City University (2023), an MSc in Nutrition Support (Distinction), MA in Education (Distinction), and a Diploma in Professional Studies in Nursing. Her research focuses on the professional relationship between nurse academic personal tutors and student nurses in higher education, using Lefebvre and Bourdieu's theories, a topic she is completing her Educational Doctorate on.
Her teaching expertise spans undergraduate and postgraduate nurse education, including professionalism, acute adult nursing, clinical skills, simulation, nutrition, gastroenterology, and evidence-based practice. She has contributed to the Doctoral Research College at Birmingham City University since 2016, promoting innovative research practices nationally.
