Hector Fenech is a Visiting Professor at the University of Bradford's Faculty of Engineering & Digital Technologies. He previously served as Director of Future Satellite Systems Group at Eutelsat (1999–2020) and held leadership roles at Communications Systems Research Ltd. (1987–1999). A University of Bradford alumnus, he earned his PhD there in 1987 and曾 lectured in the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department until 1987.
Research & Expertise: Specializes in satellite systems engineering, high-throughput satellites (HTS), and space AI applications. Authored the book High Throughput Satellites (Artech House, 2021) and holds 14 patents. Holds three prestigious Fellowships: AIAA, IET, and IEEE.
Current Roles: Academic Advisor for the MSc Space System Engineering program, Expert Advisor to the Bradford-Renduchintala Space AI Centre, and grant/industry project consultant. Teaches Communication Satellite Systems in the MSc Satellite Systems Engineering program.
Contributions: 40+ years of industry experience in satellite communications. Actively liaises with industry partners to create internship opportunities and ensure academic relevance in evolving technical landscapes.
