Heath Hooper

Heath Hooper, PhD, serves as Dean of the Ledbetter College of Business and Professor of Sport Management at Shorter University. He holds a PhD in Sport Management from North Central University and has over a decade of experience in higher education. Dr. Hooper is actively involved in community leadership roles, including the Rome Floyd Chamber of Commerce Executive Board and the Rome Floyd County Commission on Children and Youth.

His educational background includes a PhD from North Central University (Minneapolis, MN), a Master's in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University-Irvine, and a Bachelor of Science in Sport Administration from Reinhardt University.

Research interests focus on NCAA policies, student-athlete well-being, Title IX impacts, and ethical practices in sport management. Notable topics include mental health support, obesity prevention in youth sports, and communication privacy management in NCAA social media policies.
