Dr Harry Dugmore is a Senior Lecturer in Communication at the University of the Sunshine Coast (UniSC), located at the Moreton Bay campus. He holds a PhD, BA Honours, and BA from the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa. Previously, he served as the MTN Chair of Media and Mobile Communications at Rhodes University (2009–2020). His research focuses on post-literate authoritarian discourses, journalism economics, regional economic development, and the impact of digital transformation on media ecosystems. He has led major projects including the ASSAf consensus study on human sexuality policy in Africa (2015) and explored news sustainability in post-COVID contexts (2021).
