Professor Sajid Anwar serves as a Professor of Finance and Business and Commerce Honours Coordinator at the University of the Sunshine Coast (UniSC), School of Business and Creative Industries. He joined UniSC in January 2009 after holding full-time academic positions at Charles Darwin University, University of Canberra, Charles Sturt University, James Cook University, University of Adelaide, and University of South Australia, with additional short-term appointments at the University of Waterloo (Canada) and University of Macau.

Professor Anwar's research centers on foreign investment impacts, global value chains (GVC), and spillover effects on firm/sectoral performance. With over 170 peer-reviewed publications, his work demonstrates significant contributions to understanding cross-border economic dynamics and financial systems through rigorous empirical analysis.

He has successfully supervised over a dozen doctoral candidates to completion. Currently, he co-leads the "Sunshine Coast workforce development and skills gap analysis" project (2022-2024) funded by Sunshine Coast Regional Council and UniSC with A$197,000, alongside investigators Margarietha Scheepers and Karen Becker.
Research Affiliation
As a core member of the UniSC Indigenous and Transcultural Research Centre (ITRC), he contributes to interdisciplinary research addressing complex socio-economic challenges through collaborative frameworks.
