Harold Offeh is Head of Programme for MA Contemporary Art Practice and Visiting Lecturer at the Royal College of Art's School of Arts & Humanities. He also serves as a Reader in Fine Art at Leeds Beckett University. His practice spans performance, video, photography, and socially engaged art, often exploring queer histories, museum narratives, and intersections of technology with the body.
- Born in Accra, Ghana; grew up and currently lives in London/Cambridge.
- Education: BA Critical Fine Art Practice (University of Brighton, 1996-99), MA Fine Art Photography (Royal College of Art, 1999-2001), PhD candidate (expected 2020).
Research focuses on humor as a tool to confront historical narratives, with projects like Croydon Plays Itself and Down at the Twilight Zone addressing queer urban experiences and museum object encounters. Residencies include Art Tower Mito (Japan, 2019). Awards include the 2019 Paul Hamlyn Foundation Artist Award.
