Hannah Morcos

Hannah Morcos is a Research Fellow at the Institute of English Studies, specializing in the manuscript transmission of medieval French literature.

Her research spans manuscript studies, book history, textual criticism, and digital humanities, with primary focus on how medieval French literary texts were transmitted through handwritten manuscripts. She is currently completing a monograph examining the trade in medieval manuscripts in France during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries—a project initiated during her work on the CULTIVATE MSS initiative. Future research will investigate French dealers of medieval manuscripts throughout the long nineteenth century, analyzing their influence on French bibliophilic heritage concepts and their role in shaping manuscript collections across Europe and beyond.
