Dr. Han Chen is an Associate Professor in the Department of Epidemiology at UTHealth Houston School of Public Health. He received his Ph.D. in biostatistics from Boston University School of Public Health in 2013 and completed postdoctoral training at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. He is also a Regular Faculty Member in the Genetics and Epigenetics and Quantitative Sciences programs at MD Anderson Cancer Center UTHealth Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences (GSBS).
His research focuses on statistical genetics and genomics, with expertise in computational methods for large-scale sequencing/omics data analysis, parametric/semiparametric statistical models, rare variant association analysis, meta-analysis, gene-environment interactions, and identity-by-descent mapping. These methods are applied to complex disease genetics and epidemiology.
Dr. Chen is affiliated with the Human Genetics Center at UTHealth Houston and contributes to interdisciplinary genomic research through his roles in multiple academic programs.
