Hadeel Abdelhameed

Dr. Hadeel Abdelhameed is a scholar focusing on Gender Studies, Political Science, and Middle Eastern Studies. She currently serves as an Associate at the German Institute for Global and Area Studies (GIGA) Institute for Middle East Studies (since May 2023) and as a Senior Research Fellow at Monash University (Australia, 2022–present). Her past roles include Research Fellow at the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (Lebanon, 2021–2022) and Non-Resident Research Fellow at Lancaster University (UK, 2021–2022).

Her work emphasizes Political Accountability and Participation, particularly in post-conflict societies like Iraq, analyzing how traditional gender roles and cultural practices shape activism and governance.
