Prof. H.M.G.M. Jacobs (Haike) is a Professor at the Centre for Language Studies and the Department of Modern Languages and Cultures at Radboud University Nijmegen. Her research focuses on phonology, prosody, and the systematic unconscious knowledge speakers use to pronounce words with correct accentuation.
Research interests include phonology, prosody, language variation and change, and the representation of linguistic knowledge in models. She investigates how children acquire this knowledge and the mechanisms driving language evolution.
- Teaching: Coordinates courses such as French Bachelor Thesis, From Sounds to Words, and Sound Perspectives in Time and Space.
- Affiliations: Involved in academic mentoring and state-of-the-art research seminars.
