About
Associate Professor Gökhan Tolun specializes in structural biology and electron microscopy at the University of Wollongong's School of Chemistry and Molecular Bioscience. His research focuses on nucleic acid-processing molecular machines involved in DNA recombination, replication, and repair, using cryo-EM, biochemical assays, and molecular imaging techniques.
He is a Chief Investigator in the ARC Training Centre for Cryo-electron Microscopy of Membrane Proteins and serves on UOW Council and Academic Senate. Dr. Tolun teaches molecular biology courses and supervises PhD students studying potassium channels and homologous recombination mechanisms.
