Rev Dr Guy Nicholls Cong Orat is a Research Fellow at Blackfriars Hall, University of Oxford, and a Lecturer at Oscott College, Birmingham Diocesan Seminary. As a priest of the Birmingham Oratory, he founded and directs the John Henry Newman Institute of Liturgical Music, focusing on liturgical scholarship and Gregorian chant.

His research centers on liturgical music, aesthetics, and the educational philosophy of Cardinal Newman. Current projects include the publication of the Graduale Parvum (a resource for Gregorian chant) and the upcoming book Unearthly Beauty on Newman’s aesthetics.
