Gunes Gokmen

Gunes Gokmen is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Economics, Lund University School of Economics and Management. His research focuses on political economy, development economics, international economics, and economic history, with an emphasis on culture, religion, and ethno-religious minorities' roles in development. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Bocconi University, Milan.

Key research areas include cultural differences' impact on trade and conflict, human capital spillovers from ethno-religious minorities, and historical legacies on modern development. He is affiliated with AALIMS as a Faculty Fellow and contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to economic growth and inequality reduction.
