Guilherme Schmidt Câmara

Guilherme Schmidt Câmara is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Oslo's RITMO Centre, researching microrhythm perception in groove-based music. His work combines empirical musicology with cognitive science to examine temporal relationships in rhythm perception and production.

Current research establishes perceptual thresholds for microrhythmic devices like onset asynchrony and swing across diverse musical genres. His doctoral work revealed how acoustic features interact with timing in creating rhythmic feels, demonstrating that both temporal and sound properties influence beat perception.
