Gregory Tomlin

Dr. Gregory Tomlin is a Professor of Church History at B. H. Carroll Theological Seminary, where he also serves as Director of PhD Programs. His academic work focuses on the historical intersections of religion and politics, particularly within the context of Southern Baptist communities during the Vietnam War era.

Education:

• BA in History and English from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock
• MA in Church History and Theology from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary
• PhD in Church History and Theology from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary
• Additional studies at Baylor University and Boston University's Institute on Culture, Religion, and World Affairs

His research interests span Church History, Theology, English and American Puritanism, and the interplay between politics and religion in American history. His doctoral dissertation specifically examined Southern Baptists and their relationship to the Vietnam War.
