Gregory Forrest

Gregory Forrest is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Education at the University of Wollongong. His work focuses on enhancing learning transfer in Physical Education (PE) and sports through innovative pedagogies like game-centred approaches. He developed the 'Grammar of Games' framework to improve content knowledge and assessment in PE environments. Greg holds a PhD in Physical Education from UOW (2007-2013) and a Bachelor of Human Movement from the University of Sydney (1983-1986). His research explores how educators design strategies to ensure effective learning transfer in both formal and informal physical education settings.

Greg has received awards including 'Outstanding Tertiary Educator' (2014) and 'Illawarra AFL Junior Coach of the Year' (2013). He supervises PhD candidates in topics like professional development in PE and game-centred pedagogy implementation. As Academic Program Director for Health and Physical Education, he teaches undergraduate courses on sports coaching, skill acquisition, and game analysis. Greg actively engages with community organizations like the National Rugby League and Football NSW, and mentors coaches in the Illawarra region.
