Graham Winch is Professor of Project Management at Alliance Manchester Business School, University of Manchester. With a PhD from Warwick University and prior positions at UMIST and University College London, Winch researches project organization with particular focus on infrastructure development and owner capabilities. His work examines how major projects navigate uncertainty and complexity through effective governance.
Current research investigates housing retrofit programs for environmental performance and owner roles in sustainability transitions. Winch serves on the Peer Review College of the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council and advises governments on construction innovation policy.
His teaching centers on leadership in complex projects through the Global MBA and executive programs. Awards include the Global Research Achievement Award (2024) and Best Paper from ANZAM (2017).
