About
Graham Wilson is a Senior Lecturer in Physical Geography at the University of Chester, serving as Programme Leader for BSc Geography and co-ordinator of the Global Environmental Change research group. His research reconstructs past climate and sea-level changes using sediment deposits, with a focus on abrupt climate transitions and Holocene tidal systems.
Key research areas include diatom-based palaeoclimate reconstructions, isotope geochemistry, and developing geochemical proxies for sea-level studies. His work in Southern European lakes and UK estuaries advances understanding of climate teleconnections and coastal evolution.
He teaches palaeoclimatology, environmental change, and geomatics, and leads field studies on coastal dynamics. His methodological innovations include stable carbon isotope applications for sea-level reconstruction in tidal marshes.
