Graham Oppy is Professor of Philosophy at Monash University and Fellow of the Australian Academy of Humanities. His research spans philosophy of religion, metaphysics, epistemology, and philosophy of science. He obtained his PhD from Princeton University and BSc/BA from the University of Melbourne.
Oppy leads major projects including the history of philosophy in Australia/New Zealand and multi-faith dialogue initiatives. His work examines ontological arguments, divine attributes, infinity, and Bayesian inference, with notable contributions to debates about God's existence.
Honors include the Scaglione Prize, Shawcross Prize, and Founders Prize. He coordinates the World Congress of Philosophy and edits the Australasian Philosophical Review. His research has been supported by multiple Australian Research Council grants.
Teaching covers philosophy of religion, metaphysics, logic, and ethics. Administrative roles include Head of School and Associate Dean positions at Monash.
