Gladius Lewis

Dr. Gladius Lewis is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Memphis's Herff College of Engineering. His office is located in Engineering Science Building Room 316, and he can be reached at (901) 678-3266.

His research focuses on biomechanical modeling of human joints with and without implants, biomaterials such as acrylic bone cement and UHMWPE, corrosion mechanisms, oxidation processes, and elevated-temperature material behavior including creep, fatigue, and their interactions. Dr. Lewis maintains a strong academic presence through his advisory hours by appointment and active engagement in the engineering community.
