Giulia Rossetti

Dr. Giulia Rossetti is a Senior Lecturer in Events Management at the Oxford Brookes Business School, Oxford Brookes University. She holds a PhD from Technological University Dublin, an MA, BA, and a Cert TEFL. Her teaching focuses on events, festivals, and tourism at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including modules like 'Planning and Delivering the Sustainable Event' and 'Professional Practice for Event Managers.'

Her research explores the transformative role of festivals, particularly in cultural capital development, well-being generation, and storytelling. Key areas include edutainment in heritage tourism, socio-cultural sustainability, and festival tourism impacts. She leads the 'Food Festivals, Place and Wellbeing' project (Brookes-funded) and contributes to research on colonial landscapes in Irish tourism (co-funded by the Italian Geographical Society and University of Insubria). She co-edited the book Festivals and Edutainment (Routledge, 2023) and a special issue on 'Festivals and Storytelling' in the Event Management journal.

Giulia has published widely on festivals' socio-cultural impacts, experiential learning in event education, and digital tools for inclusive cultural education. She is a Social Media Editor and Editorial Board member of the Event Management journal. Her advisory work focuses on festival well-being, learning through events, and cultural heritage preservation.

Professional memberships include the Higher Education Academy (Fellow), Association for Events Management Education (AEME), and Event Industry Association of Ireland (EIAI). She actively participates in conferences on festival studies, tourism, and cultural geography, presenting at events like the Royal Geographical Society and the Società Geografica Italiana.
