Gitte Wichmann-Hansen

Gitte Wichmann-Hansen is a Professor in the Department of Pedagogy at the University of Agder (UiA). She holds a Master's in Pedagogy and a PhD in Educational Research, with over 20 years of experience in higher education teaching development. Her primary focus is on doctoral and master's thesis supervision, exploring the balance between fostering student autonomy and ensuring high-quality, timely deliverables.

She currently leads two externally funded research projects with the University of York and the University of Southeast Norway, aimed at enhancing doctoral supervision practices and fostering sustainable cultural changes in research environments. Her responsibilities include developing and implementing supervisory training programs at UiA, teaching supervision courses for new and experienced supervisors, and conducting qualitative research on supervisory relationships.

Gitte actively collaborates across the Nordic region and Europe, offering courses for supervisors and candidates. Despite her extensive contributions, her recent publications section shows no results in Cristin, suggesting limited publicly listed articles at present.
