Gina Forsyth

Gina Forsyth is an Adjunct Professor in Music Arts, based in Breaux Bridge, LA. She is recognized as a fiddler, singer/songwriter, and guitarist, specializing in Cajun music traditions. Her professional work bridges performance and education, with affiliations to cultural institutions and festivals.

Her research and artistic interests focus on Cajun fiddle techniques, music pedagogy, songwriting, and the preservation of regional folk traditions. She actively engages in ethnomusicology through performance-based knowledge transmission.

Gina has taught Cajun fiddle at renowned workshops including Fiddle Tunes (Port Townsend, WA), Augusta Heritage Center (West Virginia), and Dewey Balfa Creole and Cajun Heritage Week (Louisiana).

Her performance collaborations include touring with Bruce Daigrepont's Cajun band (featured on three recordings), the Cajun rock band Mamou, and artists like Sheryl Cormier. Her 2015 CD Mid-City Aces showcases her work in a trio format.
