Gina Buccola is a Professor of English at Roosevelt University, where she serves as Dean of the College of Humanities, Education & Social Sciences and Chair of Humanities. She is also core faculty in Women’s and Gender Studies.
- PhD in English Literature with concentration in Gender and Women's Studies (2000) from University of Illinois at Chicago
- MA in English Literature (1994) from University of Kentucky
- BA in English and Journalism/Communication (1991) from Bellarmine University
Her research focuses on Early Modern English drama, Shakespeare, and feminist issues in British and American theater. She explores performance studies with emphasis on gender, race, and sexuality.
She has edited works such as A Midsummer Night’s Dream: A Critical Guide and co-edited Chicago Shakespeare Theater: Suiting the Action to the Word, with publications in journals like Medieval and Renaissance Drama in England and Borrowers and Lenders: The Journal of Shakespeare and Appropriation.
