Gianluca Sandrone (born in Cuneo, 1987) is a graphic designer and university professor currently serving as a tenured professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna and an assistant professor at the Faculty of Design and Art at the Free University of Bolzano. His professional career spans Turin, Perugia, and Bolzano, collaborating with design studios, public institutions, and private companies on visual identities, typefaces, and editorial materials.
His educational background includes a bachelor's degree from the Polytechnic University of Turin and an academic diploma from the ISIA in Urbino. Since 2015, he has maintained a full-time collaboration with bcpt associati in Perugia and is a member of Co.Mo.Do. soc. coop., specializing in graphic design for the public sector with emphasis on museum installations.
Sandrone's research interests focus on Typography, Editorial Design, Visual Communication, Graphic Design, Type Design, and Brand Identity. His teaching methodology integrates theoretical knowledge with practical application through workshops, individual and group projects, and collaborative exercises, promoting a comprehensive approach to design education.
His work has been recognized with prestigious awards including the European Design Awards 2019, ADI Design Index, and Innovation Award. His design projects have been exhibited in group shows such as Millennials – The New Scene of Italian Graphics (AIAP, 2018).

Sandrone has collaborated with CAST type foundry on the creation of the Xanti Typewriter family and has participated in publications on design and typography with publishers such as Lazy Dog Press and ADI Edizioni. His professional experience includes work at LaMatilde design studio in Turin, an internship at the Icelandic atelier Sruli Recht, and collaboration with Satispay during his university studies.
