Gesel R. Mason is an Associate Professor in the Department of Dance at The University of Texas at Austin and the Artistic Director of Gesel Mason Performance Projects. Her work merges dance, theater, and storytelling to explore the human condition and advocate for marginalized voices.

Mason’s projects include NO BOUNDARIES: Dancing the Visions of Contemporary Black Choreographers and Yes, And, supported by grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities and the National Performance Network. She has received recognition such as the UT Austin College of Fine Arts Distinguished Research Award (2020) and the UT Austin Humanities Research Award (2019).

- Recipient of the Rauschenberg Artist Residency (2019)
