Professor Gervase Rosser is a Professor of the History of Art at the University of Oxford, affiliated with St Catherine's College. His research focuses on medieval and Renaissance art, urban history, and social structures. He co-authored Spectacular Miracles (2013) on miraculous image cults and authored The Art of Solidarity in the Middle Ages (2015), exploring guilds in medieval England.
Research interests include non-naturalistic elements in Renaissance painting, medieval urban life, and the intersection of art and social solidarity. He has curated public exhibitions on image cults and currently studies Sicilian painter Antonello da Messina to critique medieval/Renaissance periodization.
