Georgia Hammond

Georgia Hammond is a Lecturer at Radford University actively engaged in the Science Education Alliance-Phage Hunters Advancing Genomics and Evolutionary Science (SEA-PHAGES) program. She has served as primary instructor for BIOL450-01 in Fall 2019 (14 students) and Fall 2018 (22 students), and as additional instructor for BIOL450-02 in Fall 2018 (22 students).

Her research focuses on:

• Bacteriophage Discovery
• Genomics
• Evolutionary Science

Each section meets twice weekly for 6 hours using Microbacterium foliorum as host organism. Fall 2018 sections included sophomores, juniors, and seniors across 44 students, while Fall 2019 taught 14 students. Her work emphasizes hands-on phage discovery and genomic analysis within undergraduate education.
