G. Phillip Shoultz is an Adjunct Faculty member in Choral Conducting at the University of St. Thomas' College of Liberal Arts, Department of Music. His multifaceted career includes roles as Associate Conductor/Director of Learning and Engagement at VocalEssence, Cantor at Westwood Lutheran Church, and principal host for Minnesota Orchestra Young People's Concerts. He holds an ABD from University of Minnesota, MM from Georgia State University, and BM/BA magna cum laude from University of Georgia.
Research focuses on choral pedagogy, distanced learning techniques, and diversity in arts. Awards include the 2015 ACDA Conducting Competition. Founded VocalEssence Singers Of This Age and Table for More consulting initiative.
