George Liebert

George Liebert is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC), holding roles in the Painting and Drawing Department, First Year Program, and Printmedia. He has been affiliated with Continuing Studies since 2006 and previously served as Resident Director at Ox-Bow Summer School of Art and Artists' Residency (1987–2003). He holds an MFA and BFA from SAIC and studied at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture.

His teaching focuses on watercolor, figure drawing, and studio drawing, emphasizing technical exploration and conceptual engagement. Exhibitions include Estudiotres and Beacon Street Gallery in Chicago. He has received notable grants, including the Tiffany Foundation Grant and SAIC's Faculty Enrichment Grant.

His work bridges traditional and contemporary practices, with a commitment to drawing as both a foundational skill and an expressive medium. Courses like Studio Drawing: Multi-Level highlight interdisciplinary approaches to materials and concepts.
