Dr. Gary Rivett is a Senior Lecturer in History at York St John University's School of Humanities. His research focuses on the social, cultural, and administrative history of Early Modern Britain and Europe, particularly during the English Civil Wars. He co-directs the public history project 'Stories of Activism in Sheffield, 1960-present'.
His current book projects examine religious reform during the English Revolution and mental health in seventeenth-century England. He teaches modules on early modern British history, historical writing, and environmental history.
