Gareth Small is a renowned trumpeter and educator, currently serving as Principal Trumpet with the Hallé Orchestra in Manchester. He holds teaching roles at the Royal Academy of Music, Royal Northern College of Music, and Chethams School of Music. His career spans over three decades of professional orchestral performance and pedagogy.
Gareth studied trumpet at the Royal Academy of Music (1989–1993), after which he joined the Hallé Orchestra as Assistant-Principal Trumpet in 1993, advancing to Principal Trumpet in 2007. He is also a member of London Brass and Hallé Brass ensembles, collaborating globally with leading orchestras and ensembles.
