Garbrielle Strong is an Adjunct Lecturer in the Department of Theatre at the University of Illinois-Chicago (UIC), part of the School of Theatre and Music. She holds an MFA from Northwestern University (2020) and a BFA from Cornish College of the Arts (Seattle). Her work spans theatre, dance, opera, film, and generative art, emphasizing interdisciplinary collaboration and intentional storytelling. She has designed internationally and received the John Woodbridge Award (2019) and was a Hemsley Award Finalist (2020).
Her research interests include lighting design, cinematography, and innovative performance practices. She developed the online workshop 'Lighting Design and Cinematography in the Age of Covid.'
