Gabriele Mueller

Gabriele Mueller is Associate Professor of German Studies at York University, where she serves as German Program Coordinator. Her research examines contemporary German cinema, cultural memory representations, and post-unification societal narratives through film analysis. Scholarly work focuses on cinematic responses to social change in unified Germany.

Research interests include the cinematic construction of cultural memory around East Germany, representations of social transformation in post-Wende cinema, and evolving national identity narratives in German film. Theoretical frameworks draw from cultural studies and memory politics.
