Gabriel R Paez

Gabriel R Paez is an Associate Professor in the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice at the University of Tampa. He holds a B.S. from Syracuse University (2002), an MPA from John Jay College of Criminal Justice (2009), and a Ph.D. from John Jay College of Criminal Justice/Graduate Center, CUNY (2016). With 13 years of service as a police officer at the New York City Police Department, he brings practical field experience, including roles as a research/crime analyst.

His research focuses on:

• Adolescent bullying and suicidality
• School violence prevention
• Policy implications of police deployment in educational settings

Current projects develop holistic strategies to address bullying perpetration.
