C. Gabrielle Salfati

C. Gabrielle Salfati is a Professor of Psychology and Director of the Investigative Psychology Research Unit (IPRU) at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, CUNY. Her expertise spans investigative psychology, criminal investigations, behavioral crime scene analysis, and resilience training for law enforcement and first responders. She holds affiliations with multiple academic programs, including PhD Psychology & Law, PhD Criminal Justice, and MA Forensic Psychology.

• Education: PhD Psychology (University of Liverpool, 1998), MSc Investigative Psychology (University of Surrey, 1994), BA (Hons.) Psychology (University of Nottingham, 1993).

Her research focuses on applying psychology to police investigations, offender profiling, and evidence-based tools for law enforcement. She pioneered resilience training programs to combat burnout and PTSD in first responders. Collaborations include the FBI, NYPD, UK Police, and South African Police. She has held fellowships at the UK College of Policing (2016–2017) and the FBI National Academy (2012–2013).
