Gabriel Menotti is an Associate Professor at the Film and Media Department of Queen’s University, Ontario. He serves as Graduate Chair and has dual PhDs in Media and Communication (Goldsmiths, University of London) and Communication and Semiotics (Catholic University of São Paulo). His research focuses on media technology, curatorial practices, and the intersection of digital art with institutional frameworks. Menotti is the author of Movie Circuits: Curatorial Approaches to Cinema Technology and co-editor of Practices of Projection: Histories and Technologies. He co-leads the Besides the Screen research network and Museums Without Walls curatorial initiative, exploring media infrastructures and cultural institutions.
