Friederike Mathey is a Research Fellow at the Department of Management and Organization within the School of Business and Economics at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Her research focuses on social capital dynamics among international employees, funded by a Marie-Sklodowska-Curie Action (EU Horizon 2020). She holds an MBA from Nordakademie Graduate School (2018) and a BSc in Process Engineering and Energy Technology from Hochschule Bremerhaven (2014).

- Repatriation challenges and career continuity
Her work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to decent work and economic growth. Recent publications explore systemic reviews of social capital in international careers and repatriation pathways through sensemaking frameworks. Teaching activities include supervision of thesis projects and organizational behavior modules.
