Frederick Monsma

Frederick Monsma serves as Associate Professor in the Department of Social Sciences at the American University of Iraq, Sulaimani (AUIS), where he heads the Core Program and teaches philosophy, political philosophy, and literature with specialized focus on Islamic golden age thinkers.

His educational background includes a Ph.D. from Boston College and a B.A. from St. John's College. Research spans ancient Greek philosophy, early modern political philosophy (notably Descartes' metaphysics), science-religion dynamics, Evelyn Waugh's novels, and Shakespearean comedies currently under active investigation.
